Mod Pizza’s Purple Velvet No Title Cake incorporates a puck of pink velvet cake with a middle of cream cheese filling, lined in pink icing and white heart-shaped sprinkles.
I purchased the two.65-oz cake for $3.89.
The No Title Cake is mainly Mod’s model of a Hostess Ding Dong however is about twice the dimensions. There was a reasonably thick layer of barely waxy icing across the cake (the higher to make sure that it is stored moist) however there was some creamy richness to it.
The cake inside was moist with a deep pink colour and a gentle cocoa taste. The filling was creamy and thick however lacked the tanginess that I anticipated from cream cheese and pink velvet cake generally. The shortage of acidity left the Purple Velvet No Title Cake with little or no in the way in which of taste variance as you had candy and creamy with a little bit of chocolaty notes thrown in.
The guts-shaped sprinkles added a light-weight sweetness and crunch to the proceedings.
General, Mod Pizza’s Purple Velvet No Title Cake was in the end a bit too boring for my liking. There’s usually a tangy element to pink velvet cake, whether or not or not it’s from buttermilk, vinegar, and/or cream cheese, and the dearth right here simply left me with a candy, mildly chocolaty cake.
