Wendy’s Queso Fries options natural-cut French fries topped with shredded cheddar cheese and roasted poblano queso.
I paid $3.99 for an order.
Wendy’s roasted poblano peppers supplied a creamy, mildly tacky base with notes of poblano peppers and just a bit little bit of spicy warmth. Principally, it felt like a reasonably good nacho cheese. There wasn’t an abundance of it however there was simply sufficient to get some cheese on a lot of the fries.
The shredded cheddar was positioned on prime of the queso and did not actually soften a lot. It might need been higher to have spooned the queso over the cheese for a greater soften and perhaps some stretch (cheddar would not actually stretch all that nicely although). The cheddar added only a contact of additional cheesiness to the queso.
The fries have been frivolously battered and fairly crispy. The crispiness held up nicely towards the moisture of the queso they usually’re a superb thickness to hit a pleasant stability between fried potatoes and cheese. My explicit batch was only a contact too salty although.
Taken altogether, Wendy’s Queso Fries turned out nicely. It was a bit easy however highlighted the queso nicely, whereas not overwhelming the crunch and taste of the fries.
