Emily Pogorelc lit up the stage together with her hilarious efficiency as Musetta and palpable chemistry with Takaoki Onishi’s Marcello. However the actual star of the present was the cute Pomeranian Penny, who enchanted the viewers with each wag of her tail.
There may be nothing to not love about The Dallas Opera’s manufacturing of La bohème. The orchestra, led by Emmanuel Villaume, sounded completely unbelievable. I even have to provide a shoutout to set designer Erhard Rom for the very best snow I’ve ever seen on stage. It was breathtakingly stunning. Dallas Opera really by no means disappoints!
