Alcohol gross sales throughout the US are shrinking, in line with NielsenIQ, with off-premise beer, wine and spirits (excluding RTDs) all shedding floor.
NielsenIQ discovered wine gross sales suffered the steepest drop (-3.5%) final yr, as spirits fell (-1.1%) and beer gross sales dipped (-0.7%).
Nevertheless, non-alc gross sales are seeing progress, having reached $823m in 2024, a 27.2% improve year-on-year.
Spirits of Advantage co-founder, Roddy Nicoll, producer of non-alcoholic spirits, mentioned: “Customers are redefining what a drink means. It’s now not about alcohol, it’s about expertise, flavour and feeling good. The explosive progress in non-alcs proves individuals need premium alternate options that ship on style with out compromise.”
Neilsen’s ‘12 months in Assessment’ report claims the $176m spike in non-alc gross sales was “fuelled by moderation, wellness and Gen Z’s shifting consuming habits”.
