The Irish is powerful on this one, and the honeyed, cereal-heavy base instantly pops within the glass. It’s barely musty at instances, with notes of mushroom and oxidized wine pushed by the sherry-finished bourbon, turning more and more earthy over some time.
As with many sophisticated blends alongside these traces, the palate strikes the drinker as fairly uncommon, mixing a candy base of toffee with a slight savory edge that recollects sherried mushrooms and a contact of leather-based.
