I baked buttery vanilla sugar cookies in lovable teapot and teacup shapes for my Magnificence and the Beast Tea to honor Mrs. Potts and Chip. 1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup sugar
2  giant eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Vanilla frosting, recipe follows

  1. Cream collectively butter and shortening. Add sugar and blend till completely integrated. Add eggs separately, mixing nicely after every addition. Add vanilla extract. Sift collectively flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter-sugar combination.
  2. Divide the dough into fourths, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill at the very least two hours or in a single day.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 levels. On a flat floor sprinkled with flour, roll one disk of dough to desired thickness. (I desire thick sugar cookies.) Minimize out with teapot and teacup cookie cutters.
  4. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 5-7 minutes or till simply turning golden on the perimeters and funky utterly. Repeat with remaining dough. Frost and embellish!

     

Vanilla Frosting
3 cups powdered sugar
1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp milk

  1. Beat butter till fluffy. Add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and mix nicely. Add 1 Tbsp milk and mix till it’s beginning to appear to be frosting. Add remaining 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 Tbps milk, and a couple of tsp vanilla extract. Add a bit extra milk should you want it to get your required consistency.
