PRODUCED BY: Black Stallion Property Vineyard
This wine is finest served as an aperitif, with a really slight chill (beneath 70 F) and decanted or aerated. A fairly reserved wine, I discovered no actual exuberant fruit – and even warmth, regardless of it being 15 % alcohol. The primary whiff exhibits acidity, then a tinge of the leather-based and darkish fruit grown within the heat part of the Napa Valley. Aromas embody baking spices and cassis. When the wine is aerated within the glass, some purple fruit begins to emerge. End is reasonable, not excellent.
PAIRING: I sampled this with a lot of meals, and one of the best pairing was the best — actually plain bread & butter or crackers.
NOTE: decant, or open at the least 20 minutes earlier than tasting.
